Doctor Hánsel Frómeta Hernández, Head of the National Ozone Therapy Program, reported ((January 15, 2024) that in 2023 Venezuela had “118 facilities” to apply ozone therapy as a complementary therapy, “distributed in the 24 States”, where “around 60 thousand consultations” were carried out. with more than 300 thousand treatments.”

The ozone therapy program “was born in 2020 with the start of the COVID pandemic,” with “rectal insufflation therapy.” However, says Dr. Hánsel Frómeta Hernández, it has begun to be applied in other pathologies, in accordance with the Madrid Declaration on Ozone Therapy, “and this has caused us to increase the range of treatment to combat various diseases, with the consequent improvement in the health of the Venezuelan people.”

For this reason, at the end of 2023, Dr. Frómeta pointed out, “bag inflation for patients with Diabetic Foot” was already being practiced, in addition, “infiltrative techniques of paravertebral ozone and intra-articular ozone to treat different pathologies in the joints.” “By 2024 we intend to link up with other specialties, increase consultations for Diabetic Foot patients in all States, increase statistics and open a greater number of services in order to achieve better care for the Venezuelan population.”
